What is a breast lift?
With time, pregnancy, breastfeeding or weight loss, the skin of the breast stretches and the breast sits lower. A breast lift removes excess skin, reshapes the breast tissue and moves the nipple and areola to a higher position. The areola can also be made smaller.
A lift on its own does not add much volume. If you would also like fuller breasts, your surgeon may suggest combining the lift with implants or fat transfer.
Who is a breast lift suitable for?
A breast lift may be suitable if you:

Breast lift techniques

Vertical (lollipop) lift
A scar around the areola and down to the breast fold. For a moderate lift and reshaping.
Anchor (inverted-T) lift
Adds a scar along the breast fold. For more significant sagging or larger breasts.
Lift with implants
Combines a lift with implants to raise the breast and restore upper fullness.

Check-up with your surgeon before you fly home.

Do I need a breast lift or breast implants?
Implants add volume; a lift raises the breast and nipple. If your breasts have dropped, implants alone may not give the shape you want. Your surgeon will advise after reviewing your photos.
Will I have scars?
Yes. Depending on the technique, scars run around the areola, down to the breast fold and sometimes along the fold. They fade gradually over 12 months or more.
Can I breastfeed after a breast lift?
Many women can, as the nipple usually stays connected to the breast tissue, but this cannot be guaranteed. It is best to have a lift after you have finished having children.
How long does a breast lift last?
